Engineering Director - up to £120,000 + Bonus + Benefits - Ref 1652

I am currently recruiting for an Engineering Director to work for a fascinating medical device organisation based in Wiltshire. Salary up to £120,000 + Bonus + Benefits.

The organisation operate at the forefront of their market and have a novel medical device product that has taken the market by storm since being commercialised very recently. The organisation employ close to 100 people and have multiple sites across the globe. The primary market for their product is USA, however they do also supply into the UK and Europe.

To aid with the expansion plans of this very exciting business, they now have the need to appoint an Engineering Director into a newly created role on a permanent basis.

In this role as an Engineering Director, you will be responsible for managing the R&D team based in the UK, whilst liaising with and managing my clients contract manufacturing organisations that they have partnered with who are situated in Europe and Asia. Initially you will oversea a team of 6 engineers, but this could quite quickly be 10 once up an running. The organisation is currently ramping up production since entering the market, so a large part of your role will be looking at the scale up activities necessary and how best to do this. Given the location of the contract manufacturing organisations there will be some travel required as and when needed. The preference is for this person to be on site 5 days a week, but a hybrid arrangement would be considered for the right candidate, subject to an initial 5 days a week on site for onboarding.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Engineering Director or similar
• Previous experience dealing with contract manufacturing organisations (CMO's)
• Experience within the medical domain (13485, FDA, MDD, MDR)

Desirable Requirements:

• Understanding scale up operations for a product in manufacture
• Degree educated
• Experience having seen a product from concept into commercialisation on all the stages between
