Job title: Software Engineer
Location: Romsey/Hybrid
Salary: £60 - £62k
Candidates must be willing and eligible to go through SC and DV clearance for this Software Engineer role.
I am looking for Software Engineers for a client of mine who are a leading tech and engineering firm operating within the UK defence and national security space.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement efficient real-time systems.
- Understand and apply new and emerging technologies.
- Work on diverse projects spanning a range of domains including Array Processing, Communications and Sensors
Skills Required:
- Expertise in C and/or C++ for embedded development
- Experience of unit and system testing
- Expertise in embedded Linux platform development
- Experience of modern DevOps practices, including version control and continuous integration
- Knowledge of latest System on Chip (SoC) devices
It would be useful, but not essential, to have:
- Expertise in development and implementation of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms
- Experience of modelling/simulating algorithms using MATLAB
- Expertise in FPGA firmware development using VHDL
- Knowledge of latest open source frameworks e.g. OpenCPI
- Knowledge of latest Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms
It would also be desirable to have an awareness of:
- Electronic warfare
- RF design
