A prestigious Aerospace group is looking for a General Manager to join their busy and expanding engineering facility.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the production facilities of the Business.

The candidate must be capable of managing, motivating, and driving a multi shift production workforce to achieve productivity, efficiency and out targets.

Key Skills and Experience:

Required

  • Experience of small batch manufacture within an AS9100 CNC Precision Machining Environment or similar quality environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Hands on Attitude
  • Strong engineering ability with regards to drawings, manufacturing methods
  • Proven track record of estimating and quote production in a similar role.
  • Appropriate technical machining knowledge with experience in machining a variety of material types.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft suite of products.
  • Experience of treatments and coatings

Responsibilities:   

  • Responsible for all the overall day to day management of the Durham facility.
  • Provide effective leadership to the Durham management team.
  • Guarantee that a safe and compliant work environment is maintained at all times
  • Consistently drive monthly sales output versus target.
  • Ensure all job holder roles are clearly understood, have relevant performance metrics and that appropriate accountability is maintained at all times.
  • Maximiseand maintain production efficiency through effective use of all available resources; adjusting manufacturing methodology where appropriate.
  • Engage with all members of the workforce to maximise employee performance ensuring appropriate people development and training plans are in place to support this.
  • Maintain regular dialogue with the MD on all relevant aspects of the business and it's operations.
  • Develop practical, comprehensive and sustainable ideas for improvement.
