Cardiac Physiologist - ASAP Start - Band 8

Ackerman Pierce are currently recruiting for a Band 8b equivalent Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiology in the area of Invasive Physiology to work at Cromwell Hospital, which is an internationally recognised hospital located in the heart of Kensington, London.

About The Role:

To strengthen service delivery and patient care within the EPS-Ablations, CRM and Interventional Cardiology. You should have advanced clinical knowledge in Electrophysiology and CRM. This will be balanced with some Interventional Cardiac procedures. A renewal, refresh training on Interventional Cardiology can be provided to the candidate who already possesses previous experience and core knowledge.

Interventional Procedures:

LHC and PCI (haemodynamic monitoring and reporting). Coronary assessment ie FFR/IFR-RFR, IVUS, and IVL. Support TAVI, other valvuloplasty, Closure Device procedures (ASD, PFO, LAA) and occasional RHC

MUST HAVE - Full BSE Adult Transthoracic Echo accreditation or equivalent, able to perform and report independently.

Duties & Responsibilities as a Cardiac Physiologist - ASAP Start :

  • To perform standard and complex measurements and techniques of quantification, to an accurate and reproducible level, interpret findings and independently issue final clinically diagnostic reports, to a competent professional standard.
  • To produce consistently high quality recordings, measurements, and quantification and issue comprehensive and accurate diagnostic reports.
  • To perform and interpret 12 lead ECGs; Fit, removal and analysis of 24 hour Holter/BP monitors;
  • To perform and interpret Exercise Treadmill Tests, both technically and medically led.
  • To help monitor and maintain the standards of quality achieved by the department. To develop the service in terms of quality, safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness, whilst developing one's own professionalism and expertise.
  • To assist echocardiography colleagues in organising and carrying out the daily work allocation of the department to ensure that the hospital's caseload commitment to its healthcare stakeholders is fulfilled throughout the working week.
  • To assist in maintaining an ordered filing and retrieval system and/or electronic computer database of patients' recordings, measurements, reports and attendance details and helping to provide the necessary statistical returns of activity etc.
  • To assist in the capture and storage of clinical data and audit outcomes. To provide any other information that may be necessary from time to time and carry out administrative tasks as required.
  • To help with the maintenance of consumable stock and replenishment of the same as necessary, working within the department's budgetary and logistical constraints.
  • To be trained and accredited under the auspices of the Resuscitation Council (UK) and to partake in providing Immediate Life Support (ILS) cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as and when necessary.
