Westwood Recruitment are on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor to join our client on a permanent basis in Newport. The company is entering a busy period and are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who has worked on RC Frames/Reinforced Concrete to join their team who specialise in high rise buildings. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for RC frame and reinforced concrete projects
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and control costs.
  • Administer contracts, including subcontractor agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials and labour.
  • Collaborate with site teams to assess project requirements.
  • Estimate quantities for concrete, formwork, reinforcement, and related items.
  • Identify potential risks related to cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Mitigate risks through effective planning and communication.
  • Analyse project data to make informed decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and progress.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with exposure to RC frames/reinforced concrete.
  • 5 years minimum experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Estimating experience and proficiency in using cost estimating software and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs.
