HGV Workshop Manager

Salary: £45,000
Contract Type: Permanent
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday days

Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and a knack for leadership? Do you have experience running a commercial vehicle workshop at quite a large operational level?

The Role: As an HGV Workshop Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy workshop which will involve the management of around 28 members of staff. Your expertise will ensure that the fleet of vehicles is maintained to the highest standards, keeping them safe and roadworthy. Your leadership will inspire and guide our skilled team of mechanics and technicians to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HGV workshop, ensuring efficiency and productivity
• Lead and motivate a team of mechanics and technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair work to minimize downtime and meet customer deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor and manage workshop budgets, including inventory control and procurement of parts and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed.
• Implement and oversee training programs to keep the team updated on the latest industry standards and technologies.

What We’re Looking For:

• As a Workshop Manager you will have proven experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive and results-driven attitude.
• Relevant technical qualifications and certifications are a plus.
• Retail experience would be advantageous
