I'm looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in Solidworks and sheet metal fabrication to join our client in Retford.

Essentials for this Mechanical Design Engineer role:

• Mechanical design engineer with experience, particularly with sheet metal fabrication. Experience with Stainless Steel and/or Engineering plastics is also useful but not essential, providing other experience is relevant.
• Good working knowledge of Solidworks modelling and assemblies, using the sheet metal functions of Solidworks.
• Ability to provide mechanical calculations, either Solidworks FEA tools or by other recognised methods.
• Ability to carry out and review detailing of drawings to a high standard. This will not be a core function, but may be required at busy periods, or with complex designs.
• Good communication skills, and working knowledge of non-cad software, in particular Microsoft teams, excel and outlook. Much of the role is communicating designs/ concepts and reviewing designs as they progress, and with our remote partners, communication is essential.
• Good ability to work to deadlines, work independently and organise workload.
• Engineering Apprentice Degree or Engineering Degree, specifically looking for Mechanical or Design Engineer

Desired:

• Ability to produce or assist with technical documentation (Design communications, such as IOM documents, methods for installation/assembly, calculation reports, marketing material etc)
• Experience of working with a vault or similar document control system.
• Experience with check and control of drawings- Some check functions will be part of the role.
• Experience working on site/ in works on equipment- hands on experience.
• Experience with design risk assessment, either assessing the risks and/or designing to reduce risk
• Experience with other design packages, such as Autocad, Revit, Inventor
