Hardware Design Engineer - Oxford

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum

Join a rapidly growing start-up developing advanced real-time spatial AI solutions for key industries. Hybrid work available!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design innovative handheld and robotic sensor/mapping systems using CAD software
  • Apply DFM and DFA principles for cost-effective production
  • Produce prototypes, bills of materials, and assembly drawings
  • Test prototypes with customers on-site
  • Set up and test sensor drivers, calibration, and communications using Linux

Requirements:

  • Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion360, NX)
  • Experience with 3D printing and additive manufacturing
  • Professional programming experience in C++ and Python
  • Strong understanding of DFM and DFA principles
  • Product development expertise

Desirable Skills:

  • Electronic systems and circuit design knowledge
  • PCB design experience
  • Familiarity with handheld/robotic sensing devices
  • Experience with robustness testing and design validation
  • Linux, camera calibration, and sensor communication knowledge
