Our client, a leading organisation based in Birmingham, is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Employee Relations Consultant to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a passion for ensuring positive employee relations within the workplace.

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will be responsible for providing specialist HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a range of employee relations matters. Your main focus will be on fostering a positive work environment, promoting healthy working relationships, and championing fairness and compliance with employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert advice and support to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Investigating and resolving complex employee relations cases, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement effective policies, procedures, and practises.
  • Supporting managers in conducting effective performance management and capability procedures.
  • Working closely with the HR team to ensure compliance with employment law and best practise.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with trade union representatives.
  • Collaborating on collective bargaining agreements and providing guidance on industrial relations matters.
  • Delivering training and workshops to managers and employees on employee relations topics.
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in employment law and sharing knowledge with the HR team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Employee Relations Advisor or similar role, with a deep understanding of employment law and HR best practise.
  • Strong experience in dealing with trade unions and developing positive working relationships with union representatives.
  • Solid understanding of employee relations principles, procedures, and practises.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to handle complex and sensitive employee relations cases with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proactive approach, with the ability to solve problems and make sound decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • CIPD qualification is essential.

Our client offers a competitive salary ranging from £35,000 to £45,000 per year, depending on experience. Alongside this, there are a range of benefits and development opportunities available.
