About Us: Dunbar Education is a leading recruitment company dedicated to connecting skilled professionals with meaningful roles in educational settings. We are currently partnering with a dedicated SEN school that is seeking an enthusiastic and committed SEN HLTA to join their team.

Role Overview: We are looking for a highly motivated SEN HLTA who can provide exceptional support to students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, able to work collaboratively with colleagues, and possess a genuine passion for enhancing the educational experience of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively both as a member of a team and independently.
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness and understanding of the diverse needs of students with special educational needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Tailor support strategies to meet individual student needs, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Cover lessons for absent colleagues at short notice.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents, both verbally and in writing.
  • Support the teaching and learning process with a positive and proactive attitude.

Requirements:

  • A good level of education with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and drive.
  • Previous experience in a similar SEN setting, with a proven ability to understand and address the unique challenges faced by SEN students.
  • Must hold a DBS on the update service.
  • Experience in covering lessons in an HLTA role is desirable.
