SC Cleared Commercial Contracts Manager

Predominantly remote - this role is primarily remote with travel monthly/twice a month to the South Coast.

6 Month Contract (Inside IR35)

Market rate between £65-£75ph (8 hour day), but they have said they are open to different rates

Our client is looking for a Contracts Manager to ensure delivery of their existing/new business contracts and negotiate contractual changes as required.

You will be responsible for managing terms and conditions to make sure the milestones/cost/delivery schedules/quality are met.

Sometimes you will lead teams or sometimes you will be the sole senior Commercial expert in devising and delivering commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Be responsible for ensuring contractual delivery to a number of new and existing Defence projects.
  • Ensure that terms and conditions of the contract are met, goods or services are provided as promised, and both parties fulfil their obligations.
  • Develop and deliver innovative commercial solutions in support of proposals and customer requirements, together with administration of complex due diligence activity.
  • Negotiate a range of contractual agreements and manage non routine issues.
  • Identify and mange contract change throughout the contract life cycle to maximise opportunities and reduce risks to performance.
  • Shares responsibility for programme and bid financial performance with multi-functional leadership team.
  • Produces business cases/ briefing materials for senior management reviews.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience within contractual delivery.
  • Ability to understand complex data and technical requirements and translate that understanding into creating and delivering compelling Commercial business winning and delivery strategies.
  • Experience of negotiating Commercial Agreements in the Defence industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, combined with a flexible and positive attitude.
  • Good working knowledge of import/export legislation with specific understanding of ITAR.
  • Experience of programme financial management and how to apply that to risk and opportunities.
  • Strong record of problem solving with an ability to drive performance through others.
  • Experience of Customer/Subcontractor Relationship Management.

Please note that the client has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and therefore this contract will be run through an Umbrella Company. Income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.
