We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Specialist Teaching Assistant to support children at the start of their education.

We are looking for a Specialist Teaching Assistant who has a commitment to excellence and is eager to make a positive impact on the lives of the schools youngest learners.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting early years children who are new to the school and require additional assistance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the integration of new students into the school environment
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to children with varying needs, particularly those with speech and language difficulties and those who are not school-ready
  • Helping to create and maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other staff to develop individualised support plans
  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress and development of the children
  • Encouraging social interaction and positive behaviour among students
  • Supporting the delivery of the early years curriculum through creative and interactive activities
  • Working closely with speech and language therapists to implement targeted interventions

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with early years children, preferably in an educational setting
  • A relevant qualification in childcare or education (e.g. CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
  • Experience in supporting children with speech and language difficulties
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • A proactive and flexible approach to meeting the needs of the children
