Role Overview: As a Secondary English Teacher, you will inspire and engage students, fostering a love for literature and language. You will have the opportunity to develop and deliver innovative lessons that cater to a range of abilities, helping students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students aged 11-16 (Key Stages 3 and 4).
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans that align with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, providing regular feedback and support to help them improve.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Manage classroom behavior in line with school policies, ensuring a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student learning and well-being.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich the student experience.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different school environments.
