Position: Cook/Chef - Permanent & Full Time

9-5, 4 or 5 DAYS A WEEK (some flexibility), NO SHIFT WORK, NO EVENINGS,

2 DAYS OFF EVERY WEEK.

We are looking for someone to join our busy, friendly team at Flour Coffee Shop. The role is a cook/chef. This position is supported in the kitchen by an assistant and a KP. The role will suit someone who is a competent cook who has experience working in a commercial kitchen, who can work at pace and as part of a team.

• A confident cook but not necessarily a qualified Chef
• High standards of food and personal hygiene
• A can-do, positive attitude, someone who likes to get stuck in and takes a pride in their job and their workplace
• Maturity, reliability, trustworthy, level-headed
• Can work without supervision and as part of a team
• The ability to manage all aspects of the kitchen
• Creativity – contributing new dishes and recipe ideas for the weekly specials
• Good communication and listening skills

The Job:

• Assisted by the sous chef, preparing and cooking all dishes on our coffee shop breakfast and lunch menu, plus a small selection of weekly specials
• Serving food to a high standard, well presented and in a timely manner
• Making sausage rolls, quiches, pies etc for the deli counter in the adjoining shop
• Food prep on a continual basis
• Taking responsibility for record keeping – temperature recording, cleaning etc etc
• Helping with stock control and rotation. Preparing orders and receiving deliveries
• Managing the kitchen team on shift
• With assistance from the rest of the kitchen team, keeping the kitchen and storeroom areas clean and organised, following the prescribed cleaning schedules and ensuring regular deep cleaning is also undertaken
