Our reputable client is looking for a Battery Maintenance Operative to join their team in the Hertfordshire area. We are looking for someone confident with maintaining and repairing motive power batteries. This will lead to a permanent position, with the days of work set at Monday to Friday; hours TBC, but all applicants must be flexible with committing to 12-hour shift patterns.

The ideal candidate will have good electrical/ mechanical knowledge, but this isn’t essential. If you have manufacturing experience and a willingness to learn, this is the role for you!

Key duties of a Battery Maintenance Operative include:

  • Customer repair of customer-owned equipment on the customer site
  • Carry out battery cleaning and maintenance on customer premises
  • Report any issues or repairs to maintenance Team Leaders
  • Safely prepare equipment for transportation
  • Build strong relationships with members of staff and customers
  • Assist the site with holiday & sickness cover. Covering 12-hour shift battery changing when required
  • General housekeeping of the battery bay area
  • Ferrying stock/information across large floor spaces (as such people must be able to commit to physical duties)

Skills required for this role include:

  • Background in Battery & Charger repairs & maintenance desirable
  • Ability to function as part of a team
  • Diligent and conscientious attitude with the ability to prioritise a busy workload
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Responsible and mature attitude
  • Capability to work well under pressure
  • Well organised
  • Ability to understand the technical nature of the product

Experience required:

  • We are open to candidates from most backgrounds, provided all applicants hold a minimum of 12 months experience within a manufacturing/ logistics environment. Any previous knowledge of electronics would be highly advantageous but not entirely necessary.
