Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (PMLD)

Location: Lambeth

Salary: £80-£100 per day

Start Date: September 2024

Empowering Learning is seeking passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated teams in Lambeth. Our SEN schools are committed to providing exceptional education and care to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and complex needs. We are looking for individuals who are creative, bubbly, and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with PMLD, autism, and complex needs in a classroom setting.
  • Implementing effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Assisting with personal care tasks.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Engaging students in creative and stimulating activities.
  • Providing a safe and nurturing environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in SEN support work, class-based support, or care assistant roles
  • Experience with ASD, MLD, PMLD, SEMH, and children with Physical Disabilities Excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care.
  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the update service.
  • A creative and bubbly personality.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • BA in Psychology and Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Team Teach trained.
  • Makaton training.
  • Background in sports coaching.
