My client is a public sector body that acts as an independent regulator within the healthcare sector.

Job Purpose:
The People Services Adviser plays a crucial role in supporting the People's Operations Team. Reporting to the Senior People's Partner, you will handle various people-related processes, including payroll, terms and conditions changes, work patterns, and addressing queries. Additionally, you'll provide guidance on sickness absence, disciplinary matters, and grievances.Main Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Advice and Administrative Support:
    • Provide high-quality advice and administrative support throughout the employment cycle, including handling starters, leavers, probationary periods, pay awards, and performance reviews.
    • Ensure adherence to SLAs and deadlines.
  2. Customer Service Excellence:
    • Deliver exceptional customer service across various People Processes to stakeholders within the organisation.
    • Offer practical advice to colleagues and managers.
  3. Employee Relations and Accuracy:
    • Maintain consistency and accuracy in handling Employee Relations cases, particularly related to sickness absence.
    • Keep records up to date in the People's System.
  4. Policy Adherence:
    • Understand and correctly apply organisational policies and procedures.
  5. Support and Query Handling:
    • Provide first- and second-line support for colleagues and managers.
    • Effectively address queries and provide accurate information to internal and external customers.
  6. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation on people-related matters.
  7. Formal Meetings and Documentation:
    • Assist in formal people-related meetings (e.g., grievances, disciplinary meetings).
    • Take meeting minutes and draft correspondence using templates.
  8. Continuous Improvement:
    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by reviewing existing procedures and identifying areas for enhancement.
  9. Knowledge Sharing:
    • Work closely with the People Partner and Senior People Partner, sharing knowledge and supporting other team members.
  10. System Implementation:
    • Support the introduction of the new People System by following process documents and making necessary data changes.
  11. Safeguarding and Sustainability:
    • Apply safeguarding policies and processes to protect children and adults at risk.
    • Support the organization's sustainability goals and net-zero plan.
  12. Other Duties:
    • Perform any other reasonable duties assigned from time to time.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a fast-paced HR team providing first level advice on HR policy and procedures, employment law and employee relations. You will ideally but not essentially be CIPD qualified or working towards CIPD.
