Senior / Lead SDET
Location: Athlone, Co. Westmeath
Salary: €80,000 - €85,000 per annum
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days per week on-site)
Position Overview: My client are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior / Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their team. This role focuses on building back-end test automation frameworks from scratch within cloud-native environments, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP). As the Lead SDET, you will also be responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of 4 QA Engineers, ensuring the highest quality standards across their projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement robust back-end test automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and continuous delivery in a cloud-native environment (GCP).
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4 QA Engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and strategies to ensure high-quality software releases.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in testing, coding, and documentation.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to software quality and performance.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in software testing and cloud computing.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Senior or Lead SDET role with a focus on back-end test automation.
- Strong expertise in building test automation frameworks from scratch.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
