Job Description:
As a Steel Fixer at Tag, you will be responsible for assembling and erecting steel components that reinforce concrete structures on construction projects. You will work from technical drawings and specifications to ensure the correct placement and alignment of steel reinforcements.
Responsibilities:

1. Reading Blueprints: Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the requirements for steel reinforcements.
2. Steel Assembly: Assemble steel bars, mesh, and other materials to form reinforcements for concrete structures. Use appropriate tools and techniques to cut, bend, and tie steel components.
3. Installation: Position and secure steel reinforcements in forms, ensuring they are correctly aligned and spaced according to specifications.
4. Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications. Make adjustments and corrections as necessary.
5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals, including carpenters, concrete workers, and site supervisors, to coordinate activities and ensure smooth project progress.
6. Material Handling: Manage and store steel materials and tools properly to prevent damage and maintain a tidy work area.
7. Problem Solving: Address any issues or challenges that arise during the installation of steel reinforcements. Develop and implement solutions to maintain productivity and quality.

Requirements:

1. - CSCS Blue Groundworker or Steel ops (Structural)
2. - Proven experience as a steel fixer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
3. - Thorough knowledge of steel reinforcement techniques, materials, and equipment.
4. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
5. - Proficiency in using manual and machine tools for cutting, bending, and shaping reinforcing steel bars.
6. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measuring, cutting, and placing steel reinforcement..
7. - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
8. - Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
9. - CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card required.
10. - Valid driving license may be advantageous for site travel.
