GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a reputable engineering company based in the Tewkesbury area, specialising in aerospace and defence. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for an Quality Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent, basis.

Our client is a lead in manufacturing who supply to several industries. They are currently going through a substantial period of growth and are looking to take someone on as soon as possible.

This position is working Monday – Thursday 07:30am – 16:00pm with a Friday finish of 13:00pm offering a salary up to £40K pending experience.

The Quality Engineer will work directly alongside the QHSE Manager and will be responsible for developing and leading quality related improvement programmes. You will be actively involved in the NPI process ensuring all Quality requirements are understood and implemented including generation of downstream QA documentation and take an active role in 3rd party supplier audits.

Quality Engineer responsibilities:

  • Create quality assurance documentation. (FAIR, ITP, Quality Plans)
  • Applying quality tools and techniques such as RCA, PDCA, R&R, SPC, 8D.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and test products to meet precision standards.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance manufacturing processes to boost efficiency.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose and resolve quality issues.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain quality records.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Audit and manage supplier quality.
  • Timely scheduling and management of all associated processes.
  • You will be actively involved in the NPI process ensuring all Quality requirements are understood and implemented, including generation of downstream QA documentation.

Quality Engineer required skills and experience:

  • Minimum HNC Mechanical/Manufacturing or Production Engineering qualified.
  • External Auditor trained.
  • LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Ability to competently read and understand technical manufacturing drawing requirements including geometric tolerances.
  • Preferably have CMM programming skills. (Software – Aberlink)
  • Working knowledge of PPAP.
