Our client is a leading manufacturer of equipment and CNC wood processing machinery and due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.

We are seeking a multi-skilled engineer with good electrical and mechanical engineering skills to undertake machine installations, commissioning, service and repair in the field.

The Role:

Reporting to the service manager you will be responsible for effective delivery of professional electrical & mechanical maintenance, service and repair of CNC equipment including saws, edge banders, moulders, routing, cutting and milling machinery.

Duties will include but is not limited to the following;

  • Assist with the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of machinery.
  • Electrical fault find and repair
  • Mechanical breakdown and repair work
  • Carryout fault find and repair work on pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Deliver effective customer training regards machinery operation and basic maintenance

Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a electrical / mechanical engineer with at least 3 years machine maintenance experience ideally with knowledge and understanding of cnc machine tools.

You will be a time served or NVQ Level 3 trained electrical / mechanical engineer with good hydraulic and pneumatics knowledge.

Applicants with some PLC experience preferred but not essential.

You will be happy to travel extensively throughout the UK and spend up to 3 to 4 nights away from home each week.
