Your World Recruitment are currently supporting a Healthcare organisation based in Chester with the recruitment of a Maintenance Plumber, to undertake plumbing and fitting maintenance repairs, planned inspections and improvements.

Duration of booking: This is expected to be for 3 months, and maybe longer.

Working Days and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm

Primary Location: Chester

Coverage Area: You may also be required to travel to and work at properties in the following locations: Birkenhead, Frodsham and Tarporley

Please Note: Travel would be dependent on breakdown occurrences and planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) needs.

Driving Licence Required: Yes, a valid driver’s licence is required.

Pay Rates:

£11.50 - £12.00 PAYE

£13.00 - £13.50 PAYE Inclusive

£15.00 - £15.50 Umbrella

Rates quoted are dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.

Overview:

  • Maintain, fault find, and repair interconnected, complex distribution and drainage systems, including associated plant equipment and steam generation plants.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain the gas distribution system, plant, and related equipment.
  • Operate Trust vehicles as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all tasks safely, adhering to safety regulations and Health & Safety Procedures.
  • Execute a variety of tasks across different trades as per the Estates Department's Multi-Skilling Agreement.
  • Carry a mobile smartphone to respond to emergencies and daily tasks via the Labour Management System.
  • Participate in the Estates Operational Forum to ensure efficient departmental operations.
  • Conduct job-specific risk assessments and contribute to the departmental risk register.
  • Engage in training to enhance skills and comply with our clients Trust's core training requirements.
  • Instruct others in aspects of their work related to trade-related tasks.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, fault-finding, and periodic inspections of hot/cold water and drainage systems, including unblocking drains.
  • Maintain, repair, and test domestic and commercial gas installations and equipment, requiring Gas Safe registration.
  • Set out and complete the new works on water systems, drainage, and gas installations.
  • Work independently, interpreting instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Safely work at heights and in confined, often humid spaces.
  • Coordinate with contractors and inspect their work to authorize payments.
  • Attend required training courses and complete mandatory training provided by our client’s healthcare organisation.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

Certifications and Qualifications

City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Craft Certificate or equivalent (NVQ 3, BTEC National, ONC/OND)

Recognised Plumbing apprenticeship

A certificate for commercial and domestic gas (Gas Safe registration) and have carried out Health & Safety, Manual Handling, and Working at Heights training (preferred)

Knowledge and Expertise

Be experienced with water and drainage systems.

Be able to perform tasks across multiple trades and learn new techniques.

Have a good understanding of current water and drainage installation legislation, especially regarding legionella.

Be experienced operating and maintaining commercial and domestic gas plants and equipment.

Personal Skills

Be able to perform physical tasks, investigations, and repairs.

Have clear written and verbal communication skills, and be able to liaise with colleagues, staff, and patients.

Be able to plan and manage ongoing maintenance and installation activities.

Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Be able to work in a customer-focused environment.

Have a Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Have proficiency with basic computer skills.
