This presents an exciting opportunity to fill a long-established position with our clients HGV workshop. We are looking for an HGV Technician to work Monday to Friday 07:00 – 16:00 with the opportunity for extra hours to meet the needs of the business.

Requirements of the role:

• Carrying out inspections, maintenance, repairs, and MOT preparation of our entire fleet of vehicles to DVSA standard.
• Completion of relevant paperwork.
• Assisting the team in maintaining and repairing other equipment including forklift trucks, cars, LGVs, etc.
• Taking vehicles for road tests.
• Occasional assistance with roadside breakdowns.
• Supporting the development of the workshop apprentice.
• Operating the brake roller system.
• Undertaking diagnostic testing.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong attention to detail to ensure our high animal welfare standards are maintained across all elements of the organization.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• HGV Class 1 preferred but not essential.
• Relevant qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent in HGV repair & maintenance).
• Experience in retail or fleet repairs is essential.
• A full valid UK driving licence.

• 45-hour week with potential for overtime.
• Up to £18.00 hourly rate DOE – equating to £42,000 annually.
• Overtime rate of £27.00 after 45 hours.
