Our client, a forward-thinking organisation in the HTP sector, is currently seeking an experienced Highway Asset Manager on a contract basis to join their team at Swindon Borough Council. Swindon aims to become a beacon for public service excellence, supported by robust transformation programmes, all designed to benefit the town's vibrant communities and businesses. • Leading a diverse team of professionally qualified individuals in delivering comprehensive asset management services.
• Developing, implementing, and reviewing strategy, policy, process, and procedure for Asset Management.
• Continuously improving all elements of Asset Management including Drainage, Street Lighting, Structures, Highway Conditions, and Data and Systems management.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and statutory duties.
• Managing reputational risks associated with the Council's asset management responsibilities.
• Targeting and planning investments to maximise the life of assets as Swindon evolves and grows.

• Experience in asset management, particularly within the highways sector.
• Strong leadership skills to manage and inspire a diverse team.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy related to asset management.
• Fluency in the English language as required by Part 7 of the Immigration Act.
• Excellent strategic, analytical, and planning abilities.
• Ability to manage reputational risks effectively.
• Strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
