We are currently looking for a Qualified Solar Electrician to join our leading Renewable client in Belfast on the permanent basis. 

You will be working on variety of Solar Installation protects for small commercial and domestic  proprieties across Northern Ireland. 

Our client is a leading and long-established solar PV installer based in  Antrim county and covering all of Northern Ireland. They have a large and ever-growing share of both domestic & commercial solar markets in Northern Ireland and have expanded rapidly over the last three years. They are the preferred installer for a number of industry leading manufacturers such as Duracell, Puredrive, SolarEdge, Solis, JA Solar, Tesla and Qcells.

Specialising  in the supply, design & installation of solar PV and energy storage systems for domestic & commercial clients with a very strong focus on customer service and design quality.

Summary of role:

As a result of continued expansion, they  are seeking a fully qualified Solar Electrician  to work as part of a three-man team along with a labourer & roofer to install solar PV, battery storage & EV charging systems. The role will be based primarily on sites across Northern Ireland with infrequent work in ROI or UK and will involve mainly domestic & small commercial sized systems. Full product specific training will be provided for the equipment we install, and the health & safety equipment used on site. Company uniform will be provided. You will commute to their office  daily then travel to site in company van. On site you will always represent their company values. Erect appropriate H&S measures on site before work begins, check surveyed roof measurements against actual site measurements - discuss & agree any variations with office & client, install mounting kit & panels as per design to various roof types including tile, slate, metal & flat. Make basic electrical connections on roof, work with rest of team to install cables & containment at high level, leave site tidy after installation.

Key details about the role: 

  • Installing solar panel arrays in commercial and residential buildings.
  • Connecting electrical components such as inverters, batteries, optimizers, and charge controllers to ensure that they operate properly.
  • Installing wiring and other AC electrical components in new construction projects, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, schools, hospitals.
  • Knowledge and understanding installation of lighting and associated lighting controls.
  • Understanding clients’ requirements to deliver projects in the time frame agreed and meeting client requirements.
  • Installing photovoltaic (PV) systems in commercial settings, including roof top systems and standalone systems including ground mounted systems.
  • Installing electrical wiring and equipment, such as transformers and switchgear, to support solar power systems.
  • Installing batteries, battery boxes, and other battery components for solar power systems
  • Installing wiring for solar energy systems in businesses, including, wiring panels to the main electrical box, connecting batteries or other energy storage devices to the system

Qualifications required:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification
  • 18th Edition
  • Understand solar DC side of installation.
  • 2 Years plus experience.
  • ECS Card desired.
  • Full UK driving licence 
  •  Proven experience as an electrician in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools effectively and safely.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
