Overview of Role:

This is a field-based position and a key connection between the company and customers. You will be responsible for the performance and sales of a set of independent customers and manage the day to day relationship. This is done primarily in person through regular store visits and over the phone contact in between these visits. These calls typically consist of selling and demonstrating new products, identifying brand or product gaps and opportunities for the customer, selling in promotions and taking orders for these, as well as managing all other aspects of the relationship including issues. The breadth of the area means the role involves extensive travel throughout the region typically 5 days per week and multiple customer calls per day. The role also includes finding new business and onboarding the new customers ensuring all details are correct and their journey with the Company is seamless.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory, to generate new business for the organisation’s products
• Visit in-person and presentation to existing and prospective customers
• Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential
• Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers
• Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints
• Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management and logistics
• Analyse the territory’s potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customer’s value to the organisation
• Create and manage a customer plan for existing customers
• Identify competitor’s products and review advantages/disadvantages to understand how to sell against
• Plan and organise personal sales strategy by maximizing time management and organisation
• Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products
• Support customers with open days and events, to continually promote the profile of the Company and  product ranges
• Keeps abreast of market conditions, competitive activities and promotional trends through the reading of relevant literature
• Participate in trade shows
• Participate in Company events and activities to benefit team relationships and understanding

CANDIDATE

You must have previous experience working in the Pet Food sector. You will have an understanding of selling in a customer facing role coupled with experience in new business development and new business generation. You will have great interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and colleagues. You will have a high level of self-motivation and energy promoting a positive attitude! You must hold a UK Driving Licence.
