Technical Writer

12 Month Contract

Up to £20.50 PAYE - £27.50 Umbrella an hour

We’re looking for a Parts Technical Writer to join our client, a world leader in construction & mining equipment.

Daily tasks for the Parts Technical Writer will include:

• Interpreting and transforming upstream engineering / technical information and creating master service parts
• Transform 3D/JT Models into 2D Illustrations
• Work with engineering, marketing, and commercial teams to provide service information support

Skills and experience the Parts Technical Writer will need:

• Engineering background - any roles where you read & understood technical drawings
• Experience managing Bills of Material within a BOM/parts listing application
• Excellent analytical skills: large proportion of time will be spent transforming engineering/technical data into service information
• Excellent communication skills
• An eye for detail with excellent quality and work standards

The below would be an advantage but not essential:

• Familiar with engine components
• Experience of using SAP ERP systems
• Use of Technical Authoring or Product Lifecycle package e.g., Windchill.
• Use of illustration software, e.g., IsoDraw
• Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word)
