HGV Class 1 Driver - Containers

We are working with a leading logistics and shipping company specializing in the transportation of goods and containers across the country. We pride ourselves on our commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Class 1 Container Driver to join our dynamic team on an ongoing basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting shipping containers to and from various locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Class 1 vehicles to transport containers between ports, depots, and customer locations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any issues to the maintenance team.
• Secure containers properly on the vehicle to prevent movement or damage during transit.
• Comply with all road safety regulations, hours-of-service rules, and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries.
• Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle service, and travel reports.
• Assist with loading and unloading containers as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 1 (Category CE) driving license.
• Minimum of 12 months experience driving large goods vehicles, preferably in container transport.
• Preferably a clean driving licence with no serious traffic offences.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and hours-of-service laws.
• Ability to navigate using GPS and other routing tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
