We are working with a market leader in the highways term maintenance industry to recruit a Quantity Surveyor.

The post holder will assist in the delivery and governance of commercial services to the NH Operations South West M&R Contract.  You will carry this out in a manner that achieves both value for money for our client, and sustainable shareholder value consistent with the contract, tender and agreed processes in the spirit of mutual trust and co-operation.

In this role, you wil make sure excellence and best practice in the support of the commercial elements of the Contract as well as ensuring excellence in the engagement and management of the supply chain, contract management and governance.

You will also make ensure the recording of subcontract liabilities onto SAP Accounting and will assist with the timely production of the monthly application. 

Key Responsibilities;

  • Management of costs on SAP
  • Process early warning and compensation events 
  • Process of Subcontractor liabilities 
  • Process of subcontractor applications for payment 
  • Manage all aspects of the Depot you are responsible for
  • Carry out duties in line with all Company Procedures and Policies
  • Ensure all work is carried out to correct specification / standard
  • Use Action Reporting Procedure to plan and implement continuous improvements
  • All work and operations to meet criteria of Environmental Policies

Ideal Candidate;

  • An accredited course by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)
  • Understanding of cost management systems and ability to learn the SAP Accounting system
  • Experience in Highways or Civils works
  • Computer Literate
  • Understanding of costing of labour, plant and materials
  • A brief understanding of Term Maintenance Contracts and their application under the NEC terms and conditions
