The Role: As an SEN Teacher at our Wembley-based school, you will:
Individualized Support: Provide tailored support and interventions for students with special educational needs.
Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other staff to create inclusive learning plans.
Student Development: Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback that supports their academic and personal growth.
Parental Engagement: Maintain open and supportive communication with parents and guardians.
Annual Reviews: Lead and manage the annual review process for students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Student Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and rights of SEN students within the school environment.
Key Working: Serve as a key worker for specific students, providing consistent support and a point of contact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
- Conduct annual reviews and prepare necessary documentation.
- Provide classroom support and student interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Advocate for students' needs in multi-agency meetings and within the school.
- Act as a key worker, offering continuous support and guidance to assigned students.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Special Educational Needs.
- 1-3 years of experience working with SEN students in a school setting.
- Proven experience in conducting annual reviews and managing EHCPs.
- Strong understanding of SEN best practices and current educational methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage administrative tasks related to IEPs and student progress.
- Experience in student advocacy and key working roles.
