Overview:
The company is seeking an experienced and dynamic Technical Manager to join their senior leadership team. This pivotal role involves technical management of all aspects of food ingredients production, ensuring adherence to specifications and maintaining product quality. The successful candidate will lead the FS&Q and laboratory teams, drive continuous improvement, contribute to strategic planning and lead the environmental agenda

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and manage the FS&Q and laboratory teams.
  • Set goals, provide development opportunities, and identify talent.
  • Implement robust succession plans.
  • Model safe working practices and contribute to the company's ESG vision.

Technical Management:

  • Ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee technical specifications, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Lead the HACCP team to achieve food safety objectives.
  • Manage water treatment systems to ensure compliance.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for quality and yield improvements.
  • Use SPC tools to solve problems and prevent issues.
  • Engage in cross-functional workstreams for operational excellence.

Customer & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Lead and coordinate regulatory and customer audits.
  • Ensure compliance with emerging laws on quality and food safety.
  • Resolve customer complaints effectively.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Minimum HNC or equivalent in a relevant field.
Certifications: NEBOSH certification is essential.
Experience:

  • Previous experience in a head of department role within the chemical or food industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of food production processes, including HACCP.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing teams.
  • Strong experience with SPC tools and techniques.

  • Detailed knowledge of food production processes and quality standards.
  • Experience in managing process plants and leading teams.
  • Proficiency in process monitoring and continuous improvement techniques.
