We are currently Looking for an experienced and skilled painter adept in the preparation and painting of diverse aerospace parts while adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, possessing a meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to achieving high-quality work results on the first attempt.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Apply the appropriate paint or coating materials to sheet metal surfaces using spray guns, brushes, or any other application methods.
  • Clean and prepare the surfaces of sheet metal components to ensure proper adhesion of paint or coating materials.
  • Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including the use of PPE and maintaining a hazard-free workspace.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the painting process, such as defects or irregularities in the painted surfaces.
  • Inspect the finished work to ensure the painted surfaces meet specified quality standards, including colour, texture, and thickness.
  • Interpret and follow technical specifications and instructions for the proper application of paint or coating to meet quality standards (NADCAP and AS9100).
  • Keep records of painting jobs, including materials used, work completed, and any issues encountered, for quality control and documentation purposes.
  • Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools to ensure their optimal functionality and prevent issues during application.
  • Set up and operate the painting equipment according to defined parameters (SOPs).
  • Stay updated on new painting techniques, materials, and industry developments through ongoing training and skill development.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Essential: 5 GCSEs A-C or equivalent.
  • Apprentice time served is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of lean principles (5S).
  • Essential: Adaptability and flexibility in various work scenarios.
  • Essential: Proven experience in meeting and achieving production targets.
  • Essential: Strong interpersonal skills, particularly adeptness in team collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative when necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
