This role offers a highly competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, plus 10% shift enhancements. You'll be part of a dynamic Theatre team, working in a hospital renowned for its complex surgeries and you will get the opportunity to really develop your skill set.
Our client is a leading private hospital established in 1932. The hospital comprises 10 theatres, including a Hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive and day surgery theatres. IT is recognised for its work across a variety of specialities such as General surgery, ENT, Gynaecology, Hepatobiliary, Neuro-spinal, Ophthalmic, Orthopaedic, Plastic and reconstructive, Robotic, Urology, Vascular & Weight loss surgery (bariatric surgery).
As a Surgical First Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the management and organisation of care provision within the operating department.
- Delivering safe quality care for patients during their peri-operative phase of care.
- Taking on managerial accountability in the absence of the Team Leader under the supervision of the Deputy Theatre Manager.
- Supervising and training junior staff to ensure a high-quality service to patients.
- Upholding and enhancing the hospital's good standard and reputation.
For the role of Surgical First Assistant, the package includes:
- An annual salary of £45,000 - £55,000 (inclusive of London Weighting) plus 10% shift enhancements.

- NMC or HCPC registration as a Registered Nurse or Practitioner.
- Post-registration qualification, i.e. Advanced Scrub Practitioner qualification is desirable.
- Experience as an expert Scrub nurse/practitioner with a varied patient case mix.
- Multi-skilled experience across various specialities including, robotic surgery, general surgery, urology, ortho & gynae.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in sensitive and challenging situations.
