We are looking for a Production Shift Manager for a fast-paced food manufacturing business based in the Northwest. Working 4 on/ 4 off, days based, you’ll be leading a team of circa 50 people across production and packing. The business is well established with a strong presence in their sector and multiple product lines. They work well together as a team and are looking for someone who is a natural leader, who can manage up and down the business to deliver on the KPIs.

The factory has peak periods and things get busy, your role is to keep everything on track by producing high quality products, in a safe environment to satisfy customer requirements.

With budget responsibility you’ll plan labour and resources effectively and react quickly to a reduction in demand. With a keen eye for detail, you’ll produce KPI information detailing; downtime and drilling into reasons such as planned or reactive, as well as OEE, waste and site variances.

The successful candidate will come with a quick-thinking mindset and a real passion and desire to do well. What will shine through is your ability to bring the best out of your team through strong guidance, coaching and mentoring. They have come a long way on their continuous improvement journey so if you have experience in lean, 5S, short interval controls, that would be the icing on the cake

This role requires hard work, determination, and a can-do attitude. You’ll find the management team all very hands-on, working cohesively to deliver positive team outcomes. It’s a highly visible role where you’ll be in the thick of the action and is the perfect springboard for an ambitious production manager.
