Wentworth James Group have engaged with a new client and a leading EV & Smart Energy Technology business with a global presence, based in Worcestershire. Products are Designed, engineered, and manufactured in the UK offering the best smart charging systems in the market.
Due to team growth, we are seeking a Systems Test Engineer to join on a permanent basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a System Test Engineer you’ll develop and execute product and system-level test activities critical to deliver the next generation of products and services. The role will involve understanding system level requirements, test methods and the operation of our products in order to ensure they are tested and verified. We’re looking for a talented person with the skills to introduce automation to our testing methods. The successful candidate will need to:
· Develop and conduct, product and system level testing of our EV chargers and our Software Apps
· Have some understanding of the technical areas across Electronics, Embedded Software, and Electrical in order to be able to collaborate with our engineering teams
· In conjunction with the Verification Team Leader, transform and automate our regression testing methods to reduce testing time
· Develop and maintain software test, configuration and diagnosis tools
· Run functional and regression tests that prove the functionality of our Smart Charger product test suite (hardware, App and cloud software)
· Manage and maintain the suite of tests that make up the full regression test set
· Work with software developers to plan and implement tests to address new products and functionality
· Work with software developers to investigate issues arising from System testing
· Assist customer support in the investigation of escalated field/customer issues
· Assist with development and maintenance of EOL testing tools
· Train production in the use of EOL test tools and maintain documentation.

Qualifications
· Degree-qualified or equivalent experience in Engineering, with 4+ years experience with cross discipline projects.
Essential Skills
Experience in or working closely with the following technical areas:

- Product design
- Electrical design
- Product regulatory compliance standards
- Embedded and Cloud Software development
· Process skills related to coordinating and documenting technical documents.
· Demonstrable understanding of high technology product development
· Able to create standalone Python scripts and full multi-function applications
· Can create easy-to-understand Software Design Documentation and User Documentation
· Knowledge of unit test platforms
· Knowledge and experience of regression testing platforms
· Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
· Knowledge of operating within an ISO 9001 quality system.
Desirable Skills
· Understanding of EV charging systems and related standards.
· Experience of test automation or automation of manual tasks using software
