Our client is seeking two ASWs with experience in learning disabilities to join our team. As an ASW, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering social work services to people with learning disabilities, their carers and families. You will be working with service users who have complex needs and require support to live independently in the community.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. You should be able to demonstrate experience of working with vulnerable adults and possess a good understanding of the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005) and other relevant legislation and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assess the needs of service users and their carers.
  • To plan and deliver social work services in line with the Care Act (2014) and other relevant legislation and guidance.
  • To work collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders.
  • To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the service and outcomes for service users.
  • To maintain accurate records and prepare written reports as required.
  • To participate in regular supervision, training and development opportunities.

Key Skills:

  • A recognized Social Work Qualification (Degree/Diploma in Social Work).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience of working with people with learning disabilities.
  • Knowledge of the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005) and other relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals/agencies.
