Role and Responsibilities

As a Secondary School English Teacher, you will:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Employ innovative teaching strategies and resources to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help them achieve their individual goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s education and well-being.
  • Act as a mentor and role model, guiding students in both academic and personal development.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in SEND education.

  • Experience in SEND education: Prior experience working in a SEND environment is highly desirable.
Qualifications
  • A relevant degree in English or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, preferably within a SEND setting.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo this process).
