Loughborough / Hybrid working (3 days in the Loughborough Office and 2 days working from home)
As qualified or part qualified accountant with good all round accounting knowledge this is a unique opportunity to join the team that is dedicated to improving the lives of young people through the power of sport and play. At Youth Sport Trust we are focused on creating, developing and delivering programmes and initiatives that improve wellbeing and equip young people with vital skills for life.
As our Management Accountant you will provide accurate and timely reporting of all financial and management information with full variance analysis, as well as prepare statutory returns including reports to partners and government bodies. You will support the month end closing process and complete the reconciliation of accounts as needed. You will be involved in forecasting and in supporting senior managers control costs by providing regular financial monitoring of activities too. This will include providing support, cost monitoring and business reporting for specific organisational projects. You will also work with external auditors on end of year accounting activities too. Important will be the ability to make sure policies and processes are followed as well as identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
You must be CIPFA, CIMA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) or part qualified with experience of developing and maintaining financial controls and procedures. You will be used to preparing monthly management and annual accounts as well as familiar with local/national government accounting systems. You will have knowledge of computerised accounts packages and UK VAT too. Ideally you will be a proficient user of Sage Intacct and possess strong numeracy, written, verbal and communication skills.
