Overview

We are seeking an experienced SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Engineer to join our telecommunications company, collaborating with one of our key rail clients. This role involves significant testing and migration responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), rail industry knowledge, and proficiency with Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), Event Control Reports (ECR), and other relevant technologies.

Key Responsibilities
SCADA System Integration and Testing: Conduct and oversee the integration, configuration, and testing of SCADA systems across multiple sites. Ensure systems are fully operational and meet client specifications.

Site Acceptance Testing (SAT): Lead SAT activities, including planning, execution, and documentation. Ensure all test procedures and results comply with industry standards and client requirements.

Migration Projects: Manage and execute migration projects for SCADA systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and adherence to project timelines.

Technical Support: Provide on-site and remote technical support for SCADA systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions efficiently.

HMI Development: Design, configure, and optimize Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for various operational needs within the rail industry.

Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including technical reports, SAT documentation, user manuals, and training materials.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and clients, to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience working with SCADA systems, with a focus on testing and migration.
Demonstrated experience in the rail industry.
Proficiency in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Hands-on experience with HMIs and Event Control Reports (ECR).
Skills:

Strong technical skills in SCADA system configuration and troubleshooting.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in SCADA systems and/or rail industry standards are a plus.

Work Environment
On-Site and Remote Work: This position requires alternating between on-site work at various UK locations and remote work from home. Flexibility to travel and stay on-site for one week at a time is essential.

Work Hours: Standard working hours, with potential for occasional evening or weekend work depending on project requirements.
