Major Recruitment are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join their team at their sales team based in the West Midlands .

The Technical Sales Engineer will be a key team player within the sales team, in this fast-paced environment you will support the wider sales team. You will be responsible for the promotion of our clients' products and services by calling customers, engaging them in a business conversion and identifying potential sales opportunities across the Uk.

The Technical Sales Engineer will be a key point of contact for the installers of our products and 90% of your time will be working with the Mechanical and Electrical contractors, gaining specifications for current and future projects. The balance of the time will be spent with consultants and architects.

You will provide a key point of contact for the installers of our products and provide both pre and post sales advice. You will liaise regularly with other members of the sales team and colleagues from a range of departments, such as:

• design
• development
• production
• purchasing
• quality
• senior company managers

Key Responsibilities of the Technical Sales Engineer

• Identify new customers who would benefit from company products and maximise potential across the UK.
• Develop long-term relationships with customers by managing and interpreting their requirements
• Persuade clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
• Administer client accounts
• Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
• Prepare reports for senior management and keep customer records via the company CRM system
• Achieve the annual sales and gross profit targets
• Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
• Generate high-quality sales leads and follow up to a successful conclusion

Qualifications and Skills required to be a Technical Sales Engineer :

• a solid technical background with either a formal qualification or a minimum of 5 years related sales experience
