My client is global leading engineering and manufacturing business located in the Fareham area currently looking to bring in a Hardware Electronics Engineer to join the engineering team and be a key player in the implementation of safety critical hardware electronics solutions within the aerospace and defence sector.

Key Responsibilities – Electronics Hardware Engineer

  • Translate system requirements into clear and precise hardware design requirements. Develop Hardware Development Plans to outline the workflow.Circuit Design and Verification: Design, analyze, commission, and verify analog and digital circuits following defined requirements, ensuring they meet cost and reliability targets.
  • Documentation: Document design activities to ensure traceability to requirements, while adhering to relevant project, company, or regulatory standards and processes.Collaboration: Work collaboratively with systems, safety, software, and mechanical engineers to ensure hardware requirements are met and to address trade-offs or design issues.
  • System Architecture Development: Contribute to the development of system architectures, considering alternative concepts and trade studies to determine evidence-based preferred solutions.
  • Production Support: Provide support during the introduction of new products into production.
  • Component Obsolescence Support: Assist with resolving component obsolescence issues.

Qualifications & Requirements –Electronics Hardware Engineer

  • Designing micro-processor circuitry
  • Designing digital interface circuitry such as DDR2/DDR3, SPI, I2C, MIPI
  • Designing analog signal measurement/conditioning circuitry, including amplifiers, filters, and signal sampling/conversion
  • Designing low voltage power supplies and implementing power switching techniques
  • Designing for EMC/EMI compliance
  • Designing for lightning and voltage transient protection
  • Managing PCB layout through subcontractors
  • Maintaining up-to-date and controlled engineering documentation
  • Verifying electronic hardware, including generating and executing test procedures with standard proprietary test equipment
  • Developing high integrity designs, preferably for safety-critical applications
  • Working within hardware development lifecycle processes
  • Engineering safety-critical products in highly regulated industries, valuing engineering rigor
  • Collaborating with a team of engineers from various disciplines
  • Communicating complex engineering concepts clearly and understandably
  • Identifying solutions to engineering problems using analysis and evidence to draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • Managing multiple tasks independently, prioritizing duties with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web browsers
