Environmental and Sustainability Officer

Plymouth

Up to £43,260 DOE + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Life Assurance 3x Annual Salary + Pension 5% Matched + Company bonus based on attendance, productivity, and quality + Company discount scheme and Westfield health.

Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week (Flexible working, core hours to be covered). Core Hours: 9am – 3pm Mon-Thurs and 9am – 2pm on Friday.

Environmental and Sustainability Officer required for a highly successful manufacturer offering ongoing career development. This is a great opportunity to join a company who dominate their market as leaders with excellence at the heart of what they do.

The Environmental and Sustainability Officer Role:

  •          Maintain and develop the ISO14001 management system.
  •          Maintain and develop the Environmental legal compliance requirements.
  •          Define and introduce Environmental sustainability improvements in all areas of the business.
  •          Define and implement Environmental and Sustainability targets.
  •          Work with colleagues to develop the desired Environmental and Sustainability culture.
  •          Liaise and manage external contractors (e.g. waste management), agencies, and local authorities.
  •          Plan, organise and complete Internal Environmental audits.
  •          Provide Environmental and Sustainability training and education to all departments and EHS representatives.
  •          Manage the day-to-day duties of the EHS representatives.
  •          Support the Net Zero working groups to achieve the company’s GHG reduction targets.
  •          Annual Sustainability performance reporting.
  •          Ensuring that you work safely in all activities.

The Successful Environmental and Sustainability Officer:

  • Experience in calculating Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emission data and initiating carbon reduction actions.
  • Experience of working within a production/manufacturing environment (or equivalent).
  • Experience of working with internal teams as well as external contractors, companies, and agencies.
  • Experience of presenting reports and results to the management team.
  • An Environmental and or Sustainability qualification would be of benefit e.g. NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or equivalent.
