Job Title: Security Engineer 

Location: West Midlands 

Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 (dependent on experience)

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive maintenance and servicing solutions within the West Midlands area to a diverse range of clients and security systems. This includes standalone systems to large multi-site integrated solutions such as IP CCTV, Access Control, and high-end Door Entry systems. The successful candidate will be attentive to customer requirements and work within set time limits to maintain the company's high standards of quality and efficiency, ensuring customer satisfaction. While the primary work area is West Midlands, travel to other regions or company branches may be required.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform mainly reactive maintenance and fault finding, with some planned maintenance and servicing of Door Entry, Access Control, and CCTV systems.

2. Occasionally work on Warden Call systems.

3. Deliver reliable, courteous, efficient, and effective service.

4. Maintain a positive company image through high standards of dress and communication.

5. Update the service system electronically with a service report after each visit.

6. Maintain company vehicle and tools in good working order.

7. Maintain appropriate stock and testing equipment.

8. Demonstrate accurate fault finding and achieve a high rate of first-time fixes.

9. Participate in the out-of-hours callout rota.

10. Complete administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.

11. Follow health and safety legislation and guidelines.

12. Meet set targets.

Objectives:

1. Reduce calls referred to W16 by Stores by at least 50%.

2. Resolve W7, W10, W14 jobs within 5 working days at least 90% of the time.

3. Achieve at least 92% of KPIs set by relevant contracts.

4. Adhere to health and safety policies at all times.

5. Attend and complete the required number of calls per day.

6. Ensure 100% live updating.

7. Keep sickness and absence within company guidelines.

Person Specification:

Essential:

Experience in maintaining and servicing a range of Electronic Security Systems, including functional and digital door entry systems, access control, locking and door furniture solutions, warden call/social alarms, fire alarms, intruder alarms, TV systems, door/barrier/gate automation, and GSM access control.

Preferably experience in the social housing sector.

Experience with the following equipment:

  • BPT
  • Telefusion
  • Status
  • CCL
  • PAC
  • Paxton
  • Tynetec (door entry and warden call)
  • Tunstall

Desirable:

  • C1 + E Driving licence
  • IPAF, CSCS, PASMA certifications
  • Clean criminal record for security screening purposes

Competencies:

- Solid grounding in maintenance and service of CCTV, IP, Door Entry, and Access Control systems.

- Relevant experience in the door entry/access control market.
