Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Temporary Support Worker to join our team in Lifton in Devon. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their well-being and promoting independence. This role requires excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work flexibly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Assist clients with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Support clients with medication management, following prescribed plans and guidelines.
- Encourage and support clients in engaging with social and recreational activities.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients’ conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and other support workers to ensure a comprehensive care plan.
- Respect the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of clients at all times.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (essential).
- Valid driving license and access to a vehicle (essential).
- DBS – enhanced check
- Previous experience in a support worker or similar care role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
Working Conditions:
- This is a temporary position with varying hours based on client needs.
- The role may involve travel within Devon to different client locations.
- Physical effort may be required to assist clients with mobility.
