Controls Engineer - Coventry - Up to £45,000 plus benefits

As a Controls Engineer, you will work with other team members and the customer to deliver controls and powertrain engineering projects. 

In your first few weeks in this Controls Engineer role, you can expect to:

• Support process for powertrain control requirements development
• Design, simulate, implement, debug, test and research control and estimation algorithms for various electrical, mechanical, and thermal systems in powertrain systems
• Engage with suppliers and other stake holders to review hardware and software attributes
• Develop the software and controls for the electrified powertrain

To apply for this Controls Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

• Engineering/Science Degree (or equivalent)
• Automotive engineering knowledge/experience in design and validation for electrified powertrain systems
• Experience of automotive control systems software development, data logging and calibration tools
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Knowledge in machine learning, AI algorithms and predictive control systems
• A working knowledge of vehicle architectures, communication protocols CANFD, FlexRay and Automotive Ethernet
• Experience with Vector (e.g., CANalyzer, CANape) and Mathworks tools (e.g. Matlab/Simulink) or equivalent
• Driving license valid for driving in the UK
