Theo James Recruitment is proud to partner with a renowned aerospace engineering company based in South Shields, assisting them in their search for a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer. Our client is a leader in the aerospace sector, known for their commitment to innovation, quality, and excellence.
Job Role:
To technically support operations by developing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes (CNC Machining, presswork, laminate) to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, including cycle time, rates per hour, yield, and scrap, and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.
- Provide technical support to resolve process-related issues.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Assist in New Product Introduction and provide manufacturing and technical expertise.
- Produce CNC programs for a variety of machine tools.
- Collaborate with Team Leaders, manufacturing team members, and build relationships with tooling suppliers.
- Participate in and implement improvement programs and initiatives using Lean Manufacturing strategies.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in production technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
- Undertake additional duties as required in line with the needs of the business and your job role.

Other Requirements:
- Ensure all safety rules and standards are adhered to.
- Ensure correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times when required, in line with company procedures.
- Commitment and ongoing support to the company’s LEAN program.
- Flexibility to travel as and when required.
- Hold a full clean driving license.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Significant experience in a Manufacturing/Process Engineering role.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and 3D CAD modeling.
- Adept at working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience with CAD/CAM systems (Solidworks/Alphacam/Catia).
