Theo James Recruitment is proud to partner with a renowned aerospace engineering company based in South Shields, assisting them in their search for a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer. Our client is a leader in the aerospace sector, known for their commitment to innovation, quality, and excellence.

Job Role:

To technically support operations by developing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes (CNC Machining, presswork, laminate) to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, including cycle time, rates per hour, yield, and scrap, and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.
  • Provide technical support to resolve process-related issues.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Assist in New Product Introduction and provide manufacturing and technical expertise.
  • Produce CNC programs for a variety of machine tools.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders, manufacturing team members, and build relationships with tooling suppliers.
  • Participate in and implement improvement programs and initiatives using Lean Manufacturing strategies.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in production technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Undertake additional duties as required in line with the needs of the business and your job role.

Other Requirements:

  • Ensure all safety rules and standards are adhered to.
  • Ensure correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times when required, in line with company procedures.
  • Commitment and ongoing support to the company’s LEAN program.
  • Flexibility to travel as and when required.
  • Hold a full clean driving license.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Significant experience in a Manufacturing/Process Engineering role.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and 3D CAD modeling.
  • Adept at working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with CAD/CAM systems (Solidworks/Alphacam/Catia).
