Location: Oxford (3 days a week on-site)
Salary: £40,000-£60,000 DOE + performance bonus up to 20%

You will be among the first in the new Digital department, working on projects to create research tools and production solutions. This is a hands-on role involving full-stack problem-solving, ideal for engineers experienced with Microsoft stacks, Azure, and possibly other languages and platforms.
 
This company prides itself on a strong culture and high-performing teams, therefore you will be based on-site 3 days a week from their brand-new office space.
 
You will need to live and have the full right to work in the UK.
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • At least three years of commercial experience as a Software Developer/Engineer
  • Solid experience with Microsoft tools and platforms including C#, ASP .Net Core, ReactJS, TypeScript, Razor, HTML5, SQL Server, NoSQL, Azure
  • Understanding of DevOps, support, configuration management and continuous deployment
  • Knowledge of web and cloud technologies, security, comms, APIs – ideally in IoT and/or scientific instruments
  • Bachelor’s or above degree in Computer Science or STEM subject
  • Previous experience in the life sciences, healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is preferred
  • A positive approach to best-practice software engineering such as Clean Code, SOLID Principles, Unit Testing, Continuous Integration, Microservices
  • Experienced in following modern development methodologies (such as Agile, Scrum, and Test-Driven Development) in a professional setting, preferably within a regulated industry
  • Additional technical skills in Linux, time-series data, or business intelligence are considered a plus
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coding and software design to meet specified requirements and tasks
  • Back-end web development, including APIs and working with various database paradigms
  • Participating in daily stand-ups, design reviews, and other team activities
  • Developing automation for build pipelines, business processes, and DevOps
  • Using source control, code review systems, and advanced tools
  • Creating unit tests and participating in code and design reviews
  • Assisting Business Analysts and Product Owners in refining requirements and specifications
  • Ensuring developments are completed on time and meet quality standards
  • Contributing to technical documentation and quality controls
