A small primary school in Gloucester has an exciting opportunity for a part-time SENDCo. This is a chance to work with an extremely dedicated team and have a positive impact on children's educational experience. This is a temporary role starting in September and is likely to become permanent in January. As SENDCo you will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead SEND provision across the school
  • Work in conjunction with SLT
  • Ensure all statutory/legal requirements are met for children with SEND
  • Lead Annual Review meetings
  • Create and review support plans with teachers and parents
  • Regularly liaise with parents and keep them informed
  • Deploy SEND staff and resources effectively
  • Monitor and evaluate SEND staff performance
  • Keep up to date with the latest SEND legislation


Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (NASENCO)


Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience working in a leadership team
