Robust – Design Engineer
LOCATION- Stoke-On-Trent
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £28,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience
My client specialises in fabrication for a range of industries, and they are looking to take on a Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Stoke-On-Trent area.
The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

My client specialises in fabrication for a range of industries, and they are looking to take on a Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Stoke-On-Trent area.
The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
- Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
- Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
- Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations
- Any previous experience of working with process machinery or steel / metal materials would be desirable
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient using MS Office
- Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
- Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
- Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD
- Liaising with manufacturing providers
- Being involved in final assembly of products
- Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
- Updating 3D models and drawings
- Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
- Checking drawings for sign off
- Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
