Hays Senior Finance are recruiting on behalf of their established public sector client for a permanent Group Accountant to join their busy team. Salary is up to £49,000 while also offering excellent benefits including 37 days annual leave, 12% pension, private medical insurance, a flexitime system allowing the ability to accrue an additional 12 days of annual leave a year and highly flexible hybrid working with a minimum requirement of 1 day a month in the office.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be in charge of the financial management of two entities within the group. You will be a technical expert in the provision of high-quality financial support, advice and management. You will complete all monthly management accounting, financial reporting, year-end statutory accounting, budgeting & forecasting and financial analysis. You will present monthly to the board while providing expert advice, assist with the group annual audit and manage one member of staff. You will also be involved in various accountancy projects and process & system improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant with experience of completing both management and financial accounting. You will have experience in budgeting & forecasting and financial analysis. You will have excellent IT skills including Excel and have the ability to relay financial information to non-financial stakeholders. You will ideally have experience of process & system improvement but this is not essential.
